- 24 May 2007: Due to numerous requests, the deadline for the International Conference on Dynamic Languages (ESUG2007's peer reviewed paper session) has been extended one week. The submissions system at http://www.lore.ua.ac.be/Events/ESUG07/ remains open until Sunday, June 3rd, 2007.
- 11 May 2007: The submission system for the International Conference on Dynamic Languages (the ESUG2007 peer reviewed paper session) is now opened. Papers (max. 25 pages, references included) should be in pdf-format and are too be submitted through a web-service located at http://www.lore.ua.ac.be/Events/ESUG07/.

- 28th October 2006: the Swiss Smalltalk User Group organizes a Smalltalk event in Bern.

- 29th september 2006: rST (Remote Smalltalk) has been released for Squeak 3.9.
- 21st September 2006: Smalltalk for Everyone Else article by Keith Fieldhouse (ONLamp.com), introduces Smalltalk for non-Smalltalkers.
- 12th September 2006: StrongTalk is now Fully Open Source, Including Virtual-Machine!
- 6th September 2006: Plopp from Impara is the winner of the ESUG 2006 Innovation Technology Awards
- 4th September 2006: The 14th ESUG International Smalltalk Conference started at Prague, Czech Republic
- 18th July 2006: An evening conference at Paris about GemStone Smalltalk. More on the French Smalltalk Users Group
- 1st July 2006: Doc. Ing. Vojtech Merunka, Ph.D. from the Dept. of Information Engineering, Faculty of Management Czech University of Agriculture in Prague, will publish next september a Book in Czech about OOP Data Modeling based on Smalltalk and VisualWorks.
- 14 June 2006: ESUG conference 2006 registration server is open.
- 30 May 2006: ESUG launches SummerTalk 2006 a program to get students hacking on Smalltalk over the Summer. Yeah!
- 25 Apr. 2006: ESUG launches the new server dedicated to Smalltalk lectures and videos http://smalltalkteaching.esug.org/
- 17 Apr. 2006: Free version of Dolphin (the Community Edition) is now available. http://www.object-arts.com/content/navigation/products/dce.html This requires a serial number but dolphin people suggest that for academic institutions they should register once and then just distribute the serial number to their students.

Year 2004 ESUG Smalltalk Joint Event was currently being held in Köthen (Anhalt), Germany, September 6 to 10, followed by a Camp Smalltalk week-end (11 - 12 September 2004).
To encourage/help students attend the conference, ESUG is organizing this year again a Student Volunteers program!
